I have worked in the mental health and addictions fields since 1994. I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as, a Licensed Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor. For three years I served as the Clinical Director of a treatment program working with the criminal justice population. I also worked three years as the program director working with adults with Co-occurring disorders. I started my private practice in 2007.
My clinical experience has been focused on issues of sexual abuse, domestic violence, healthy relationships, dual diagnosis, substance abuse and PTSD. I offer a wide range of clinical services which include assessments, evaluations, group, individual, couples, and family counseling. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults.
I work with my clients from a theoretical orientation of counseling that blends cognitive behavioral, solution focused, humanistic and client centered models. What this means is that I believe in assisting and guiding in the process of your own journey of discovery and solutions, not dictating it.
My personality is very laid back. I have been described as a compassionate, friendly, open, and caring individual. My motto is “live, love, laugh, just not at the expense of anyone else”.
